RADIO RIYA

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

This policy describes the Radio Riya listener app for Android and iOS, including Android package com.bitsaccurate.radio_riya. The app plays live radio, displays public station banners and receives station announcements. Listeners do not create an account or provide a name, email address or password in this app. The developer contact below handles questions about this implementation; it is separate from the station owner's contact.

Live radio connections

The app connects to the station's stream at mars.streamerr.co:8208. Streaming begins automatically when the app starts and can continue in the background until paused, stopped or ended by the sleep timer. Connecting sends your IP address and network request information to the stream server. The server and its infrastructure may process connection times, device/client information and traffic logs to deliver the broadcast. The app does not record your microphone or save a listening history. The streaming operator's identity and server-log retention practices have not been supplied; no particular retention period is promised here.

Notifications and Firebase

The app uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), including Firebase installation identifiers and messaging registration tokens, to receive Radio Riya topic announcements. These identifiers relate to an app installation and allow message delivery; they are not listener login credentials. Apple Push Notification service is also involved in delivery on iOS. Google processes service and device information as described in its Firebase privacy information and installation documentation. Provider retention and deletion follow those services' practices.

Notifications can contain titles, text, request identifiers and image URLs. The app may download notification images, including from Firebase Storage or another supplied HTTPS image host. Opening a notification retains its request identifier locally for handling; this version does not send notification-tap events to an analytics service. You can allow or deny notification alerts, sounds and badges in device settings. Disabling alerts does not necessarily stop Firebase registration or network connections.

Public banners and images

The app reads public banner metadata from Cloud Firestore in the radio-riya Firebase project and downloads the referenced images. Images may be hosted in Cloud Storage for Firebase or another image server selected by the station administrator. Those services receive the IP address and technical request information needed to serve the content. This listener app does not upload personal files, edit banners or collect the separate administration app's login details. A banner may open an external website when tapped.

Information stored on your device

The app and its libraries store cached banner metadata/images, a copy of station artwork, temporary sharing/notification images, and a marker recording that notification permission was requested. A local notification journal keeps up to 200 delivery identifiers, pruning entries older than seven days when the journal is used. Downloaded local notification images are scheduled for deletion after ten minutes; startup cleanup removes matching files older than 24 hours. Cleanup depends on app execution and is not an exact deletion guarantee. The iOS notification extension and operating system also manage notification attachments.

Sleep-timer selection/countdown are held in memory, rather than synced to a listener account. Volume controls use your device's media volume. Image and Firestore cache lifetimes follow their libraries and operating system; there is no app-wide fixed retention period. You can clear Android app data or delete the app to remove its local app storage, subject to your device's backup/restore behavior. This does not itself guarantee deletion of provider-side records.

External links and sharing

WhatsApp Group and station-owner contact links open their intended WhatsApp destinations. Developer contact opens WhatsApp. Rate App opens a store listing; Share App prepares the station name, tagline, Play Store link and artwork in your device's share sheet. You choose whether and where to complete a share. External services receive information under their own policies when you visit or interact with them. The app does not read your WhatsApp messages, contacts or social accounts. If you message the developer, WhatsApp and the recipient will receive the information you choose to send.

Permissions and app features

Android uses internet/network-state access for streaming, banners, notifications and reconnection; a wake lock and media-playback foreground service support background audio; notification and vibration permissions support announcements. Messaging and protected internal-receiver permissions are supplied by the Android libraries. iOS enables background audio and remote notifications and asks for notification authorization. System media controls show station metadata and artwork. This version does not request microphone, camera, contacts or location access, and has no listener login, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or in-app recording feature.

Your choices and privacy questions

Pause or stop playback to end the current radio connection, change notification permissions in device settings, and choose whether to follow external links. The app has no in-app account, data-export tool or server-data deletion button. For questions or requests about app-related information, contact the developer with enough context to identify the issue. Avoid sending sensitive information unnecessarily. Requests involving streaming, Google, Apple or external platforms may also require contacting the relevant provider; this policy does not promise deletion of records outside the developer's control.
